Holistic & Sports Therapy
Sports Event Massage
Massage, applied skillfully, is the most effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculo-skeletal system. Received regularly this may help athletes prevent injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse.
A constant build up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves.
These muscle imbalances may develop and often go undiagnosed until they are serious enough to cause the athlete discomfort or impede performance.
A therapist can detect variations in the soft tissues and by using the correct techniques, help the sports person maintain a much healthier physical state and prevent injury.
Body Massage
This treatment incorporates the whole of the body using Swedish massage techniques. This will help unwind and ease muscular tension allowing the body to eliminate toxins and help sooth and relax tensed and stressed muscles.
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is very effective in the treatment of stress and stress-related conditions. The relaxation of the head, neck and shoulder area improves circulation and lymphatic drainage, and induces a feeling of total well-being.
The treatment, together with the balancing of the chakras, allows the body to rebalance both mentally and physically, which in turn encourages self-healing.
Thermal Auricular Therapy
Ear Candling or Thermal Auricular Therapy is an ancient treatment dating back centuries. There is historical evidence that it was used by the North and South American Indians, Chinese, Egyptians and Greeks. The candles are made from natural ingredients that include sage, St John’s Wort, chamomile, beta-carotene, honey, beeswax, flax, cotton, herbs and aromatic oils.
When lit, the ear candle generates a gentle heat which, when combined with the therapeutic oils, produces a light suction action. This is known as the chimney principle and works by drawing impurities gently to the surface where they can be removed. None of the candle residue actually goes into the ear.
Thermal Auricular Therapy can be used to treat the following:
